2016 Retreat - Summer Leadership Retreat Legacy Continues.

UHSF to Unite New Florida Student Leaders in Brooksville, FL.

MIAMI (June 15, 2016) – The United Haitian Students of Florida, Inc. (UHSF) will host its annual summer leadership retreat this year on August 12-14, 2016 at the Lakewood Retreat in Brooksville, FL to bring together Haitian-American student leaders from colleges and universities all around the state of Florida.

To build stronger leaders for a better community, UHSF organizes the annual retreat to best serve Haitian student organizations and associations (HSOs/HSAs). The retreat allows the different groups of student leaders to meet face to face, build leadership skills, network and practice team building activities.

The retreat has garnered a large amount of appreciation from executive boards of HSOs/HSAs that thank UHSF for organizing a platform to engage with other student leaders that are in similar positions as themselves. Positions from presidents to secretaries are asked to group together and learn from each other’s struggles, experiences and accomplishments as well as answer questions among themselves.

Lakewood Retreat offers air condition cabins, cafeteria, swimming pool, zip line, ropes course and courts for outdoor sports. Lakewood is a Christian camp and conference facility located in west central Florida. The location of Lakewood retreat is a great choice for uniting students from the different universities, and keeping the same location helps understand the site’s layouts and procedures.
